As we approach the holiday that focuses solely on friends and family, I stopped to think about for what I am truly thankful.
This year has been a big year in my adult life. If you think the span of a year is a long time, I think you are mistaken. Think about it… doesn’t it feel like you just made 2014 New Year resolutions? Now you’re getting ready to make new ones. I know the year is not over yet but let me reflect:
I am thankful for:
1) My health, sound mind and body.
2) Growing in my walk with the Lord and beginning to see changes in my spirituality.
3) My husband and our marriage. The man the Lord destined for me is now mine. I could go on about how much I love this man but I’ll spare you the mushiness. 🙂
4)My family. As all families have their ups and downs, I think this year brought us a little closer together
5) All the positive friends and people in my life. I made a promise at the beginning of the year that I would learn to say “no” and not feel guilty and also distance myself from negative people. It’s made such a big difference in my daily interactions.
Those 5 things may not seem like a lot but when combined, they are life changing. 2014 has been a wonderful ride so far. I’ve had a milestone birthday, started a business, married my best friend, spent more time with family and friends, and grown into the loving and responsible adult my parents always knew I could be. The biggest part? The best is still yet to come!
What are you thankful for this year?
